First Phase of Compensation Distributed to PAFs of Etalin Hydro Project in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: In a major development for hydroelectric infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh, the Dibang Valley district administration has successfully completed the first phase of compensation distribution to project-affected families (PAFs) of the 3097 MW Etalin hydroelectric project, the largest such project in the state and among the biggest in the country. The initial compensation amount, totalling ?269.97 crore, was recently handed over to the deputy commissioner by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on behalf of the project’s proponent, SJVN Ltd. The administration has assured that the next phase of compensation disbursement will be notified to the remaining PAFs in due course.
