The first Solar Eclipse of 2021 will take place on Thursday June 10 which is today. In India, the celestial event will be visible only in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh, as per the map published by NASA. The eclipse would begin from 1:42 pm and will end at 6:41 pm. The peak time will come around 4:16 pm when both the Sun and Moon will conjunct exactly at 25 degrees in Taurus sign.

The solar eclipse comes within days of the year's first super blood moon and total lunar eclipse, which took place on May 26.

The eclipse can be witnessed by people in parts of the eastern United States, northern Alaska, Canada, and parts of the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and northern Africa.

Both NASA and Timeanddate.com have published their live stream links so that all those interested do not miss a chance of watching it online.

The rare sight will appear when the Sun, Moon, and the Earth align together to form a vibrant coloured ring around the Moon as it covers the Sun. It is to be mentioned that the annular solar eclipse will last for over an hour. The Moon, during a solar eclipse, casts a shadow on the Earth creating a visual phenomenon as it moves between the Earth and the Sun, blocking sunlight. As the Moon covers the centre of the Sun, the edges emit a glowing halo creating an illuminated ring of fire.

The Solar Eclipse will cover the sun by 97 percent, as the shadow of the moon creates a trail on Earth known as the path of totality.
