BALEMU: A total of four persons -- including two minors -- lost their lives while travelling in a vehicle (AR03/4403) to Tawang near Angkali and Balemu in West Kameng district on Tuesday. All of them succumbed to their injuries on the spot, informed Inspector Tsering Dorjee who is the Officer in Charge of Kalaktang Police Station.

The mishap took place when the vehicle fell into a deep gorge nearly 100 metre off the road near Shiv Mandir at the 900 Chain Point. The deceased are Sunita Tomden, wife of (late) Dr Tomden-- an employee in the Electrical Department at Tawang, her two minor sons; besides Jambey Dondup who was driving the vehicle.

On getting information from witnesses, teams of Police and QRT (Quick Reaction Team) of the 61 Battalion of SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) stationed at 900 Chain, rushed to the spot. Subsequewntly, the forces retrieved the bodies of the victims from the site.
