Governor BD Mishra bats for modern amenities in Niglok Sainik School

Itanagar: Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra on Friday emphasized that the State's lone Sainik School at Niglok in East Siang district must have the latest state-of-the-art amenities required by the students.

The Governor, who was accompanied by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar and other officials, visited the school during the day and said that every infrastructure must be modern, environment-friendly and add to the standard of the secured school campus.

"The campus must be laid out exactly as per the drawings approved by the user and consented by him and the Chief Minister," he stressed.

Dr Mishra, who has been trying to start a girls' wing in the school, while interacting with the students, advised them to imbibe academic inquisitiveness, discipline, punctuality, scientific temper, hard work and physical fitness, a Raj Bhawan communique informed.

The Governor exhorted the student to do well in their studies, sports and extracurricular activities to bring laurels for themselves, their family, society, state and the nation.

He also advised the management and teaching staff to put in their best to produce the best students among all the sainik schools of the country.

Later the Governor inspected the proposed permanent site of the school.

The Governor was also accompanied by his Commissioner Dr Sagar Preet Hooda, Education Secretary Niharika Rai, Senior Architect Dawa Tsering and Principal of the school Lt Cdr A K Dutt.

Local MLA Ninong Ering, East Siang DC Dr Kinny Singh, SP Rajeev Ranjan Singh, PWD Chief Engineer (Central zone) Markar Bam and senior district level officers from works departments were present on the occasion, the communiqué added.
