Gross lapses in Intelligence Bureau advertisement
Itanagar: A team of Students United Movement of Arunachal Pradesh, has drawn the attention of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Takam Sanjoy towards the injustice meted out to the State by the Intelligence Bureau for (IB) recruitment in 29 posts.
Informing that only one post was reserved against SC for Arunachal though the State Government offers 80:20 per cent reservation policy, despite being a tribal dominated State, they sought his intervention in redressing the grievances. Pointing out that when the Union Minister of State for Home (Kiren Rijiju), who hails from the State, such injustice is not expected from the Home Ministry as IB is under his ministry, Sanjoy said adding such reservation amounted to violation of constitutional provision.
Sanjoy informed that he immediately contacted some senior IB officers over telephone who clarified that such posts have been advertised annually in the past where mostly indigenous tribals were recruited.
However, in serial No. 12 and 16, having place of recruitment at Dibrugarh in Assam and Itanagar, have been shown under SC category instead of ST creating confusion as Tagin, Sherdukpen, Memba and Puroik are missing from the list despite being major tribes.
Sanjoy asked the officer to ensure that the Home Ministry re-advertise those 29 posts under ST category again and reschedule the February 17 date to aother suitable date.
Moreover, the examination centre, instead of Dibrugarh, should be located within Arunachal, preferably at centrally located Tezu or Namsai, Sanjoy urged the IB.
