IAF Mi- 17 Helicopters airlifted 80 tones of bridging material for construction of bridge over Kume River in Arunachal

Guwahati: The Indian Air Force Mi -17 helicopters on Tuesday have airlifted more than 80 tonnes of bridging material to inaccessible Middle Subansari Valley of Arunachal Pradesh for construction of a vital bridge over Kume river.

The bridge will join the settlements of Huri village with Damin.

Owing to its strategic importance, this bridge will play a crucial role in easing out inconvenience caused to local people and troops deployed in this remote part of Arunachal.

In a press statement, the Indian Air Force also informed that the construction of the bridge has been undertaken by Border Road Organization (BRO) and IAF assisted in carrying the load to expedite the process in Lower Subansiri District of Arunachal Pradesh.
