Illegal arms supply gang busted in Pasighat, Huge cache of Arms Recovered

Pasighat: On 22nd October' 2019, a reliable information was received from sources that some people possessing arms & ammunitions were trying to sneak inside the territory of Arunachal from the neighboring State Assam. Under the supervision of SP Pasighat, Rajiv Ranjan, a Police team lead by Inspr. Abraham Taying was formed and accordingly, the movement of the suspects were constantly being monitored by the team.

On 23rd October' it was again learned that the suspects with the arms & ammunitions were trying to enter into Arunachal by Ruksin check gate. Accordingly a carefully planned operation was launched.

A trap was laid along with Tapang Tatak, Dy.SP, Inspr. Abraham Taying, Inspr. Tungon Tali, H/Ct.N.Bori,H/Ct.A.R Doley, Ct. Ojing Tayeng and Ct. Karken Gamlin near Ruksin-Rayang tiniali(tri-junction) under close supervision of SP, East Siang. On arrival of the suspect’s vehicle the Police team without fearing for their lives launched a surprise raid and even before the suspects could retaliate they were overpowered.

2(two) pistols likely to be .32 calibres with magazine having no weapon numbers, identification & make was recovered and seized from the possession of one Hiteswar Kumbang son of Yaka Kumbang of Bahir Silai Village, PO - PS Jonai, Dist. Dhemaji Assam.

A case vide Ruksin PS Case No. 16/2019 U/S 25(1A)/29(A)(B) has been registered and under investigation. The source of weapon & involvement of underground outfits are being thoroughly investigated.
