ITANAGAR: “We are not against Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) in the recently held Operation Clean Drive (OCD) to check illegal migrants without proper documents," Itanagar Market Welfare Association (IMWA) Chairman Yumlam Achung said.
Yumlam Achung told this to the reporters at press club on Tuesday while clarifying the rumours by few people on various social media for not supporting AAPSU for the cause.
He said, there is no reason for working against any issues related to State interest, but it would be better if the union had earlier informed the market welfare, the business community and the respective councilor of the ward in a written note so that it could bring much more impact, Achung suggested. “The day witnessed closure of all the market as to mark the death anniversary of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and people should not take it other way, Achung added.” He also informed that many a times despite repeated intimation many of the organization and union collect donation in the name, which should be checked by the leader head.
