India Post Bank Payment (IPBP) programme launched in West Siang

AALO, Sept 3: While launching the India Post Bank Payment (IPBP) programme, West Siang Deputy Commissioner Sode Potom hailed the occasion as a momentous one to fulfill Prime Minister's Narendra Modi's vision of Digital India to provide banking services to nook and corner of the country in their doorsteps.

Though net connectivity is a serious bottleneck in the hilly terrain of our region, he exhorted the postal department to do their best to give postal and banking services to the people of the district and assured all possible assistances from the district administration wherever necessary. In their keynote addresses, Postmaster Sangeeta Kumari and Postal Assistant Ankit Kumar disclosed that IPBP will go digital for payment and remittance services of all kinds in 650 branches along with 3250 customer access points across the country from this month.

They also appealed the customers to bear with initial net disturbances and expressed their gratitude to all senior officers and public to be a part of the launching programme to make it successful.

The gathering also witnessed the live launching of the IPPB by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modiji.

District BJP President Yomto Jini, Yaman Bagra former ZPC, Tadam Mibang Vice Principal Govt H.S. School Aalo also spoke also on postal services then and now.
