Indian Council of Agriculture Research help sought to boost research & Development wing

ITANAGAR: Director of Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), NEH Region, Meghalaya, Dr N Prakash called on to the Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein on Friday.

In their brief interactions, Mein sought the help of ICAR to strengthen the Research & Development wing of Agriculture & allied sectors in the State and to back the agreement that would be made with the CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology and Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat (Assam). He sought their support for infrastructure development of the Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the State and also to extend their support to the Farmer’s Producers Company that were recently formed and registered with the Spices Board of India. He also discussed with them how to find ways to promote marketing of agriculture produce of the farmers in order to boost their economy.
