Indigenous Food Fest begins at Khonsa

Itanagar: Minister for PHE & WS & DoTCL Wangki Lowang inaugurated Indigenous Food Festival of Nocte on the beginning day of 50 Glorious Years Golden Jubilee Celebration of Nocte Chalo Loku at Nehru Stadium, Khonsa here on Thursday. Lowing was accompanied by adviser to Chief Minister Wanglin Lowangdong, MLA Tirong Aboh, DC Tirap P.N. Thungon, and Tirap SP J.K. Meena, HoDs, Nocte Women society members and public from various villages. Lowing while inaugurating altogether 18 Indigenous Food Stalls –greeted the people of Noctes on attaining 50 Glorious Years of Chalo Loku celebrations. He praised the organizing committee led by Wanglin Lowangdong and entire committee members preserving the culture and identity of the tribe. He appealed the younger generation of Noctes tribe to preserve, protect and promote age-old traditional culture which were held by ancestors. Meanwhile, Wanglin Lowangdong informed that the celebration shall continue till November 25 in which he invited all to attend the 5 day long grand celebration.
