Indo-Bangla white water rafting culminated at Pangin

Itanagar: The three-day long joint Indo-Bangladesh white water rafting expedition which commenced from Thumbin on March 16 culminated at Pangin on Monday. The expedition was led by Lieutenant Colonel BN Jha with one officer, one Junior Commissioned Officer and seven other ranks of Indian Army and two officers, one Junior Commissioned Officer and seven other ranks of Bangladesh Army, an official communique informed here.

The Bangladesh team was led by Captain Hasibur Rehman.

The expedition team covered the distance of 85 kilometres over Siyom River where level 2 and level 3 rapids were encountered enroute. In a ceremony organized by Along Military Station at Pangin, Brigadier Rajeev Thakur, flagged in the expedition. The flagging in ceremony was also attended by Brigadier C Dayalan and other civilian dignitaries. The Bangladesh team expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the conduct of the expedition and administrative arrangements carried out by Along military station, the communique added.
