Inferno guts kitchen made of bamboo in Itanagar

ITANAGAR: A kitchen made of slit bamboo attached to the quarter of PWD Junior Engineer Risso Chatung was completely burnt down in a fire accident that took place in H-Sector here in the wee hours recently. Risso Chatung is serving as JE in one of the branches of the Public Work Department (PWD) in Itanagar.

The fire brigade with the help of the colony's youth prevented the fire from spreading to the main quarter building.

No loss of life was reported but sources told that all the kitchen items including ornaments worth lakhs and a Mahindra Scorpio parked inside the compound were destroyed in the mishap. Meanwhile, H-Sector Welfare Committee has collected funds from the public to provide immediate relief to the fire-affected family.
