ITANAGAR: A 23-member team led by Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang left for New Delhi on Sunday to attend capacity building training at Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) besides for an exposure tour at the National Capital and Jaipur.

The team consists of Deputy Mayor, corporators and officials of the IMC. The team will study good urban practices along with the unique technical, financial and sustainable aspects of other corporations. The exposure visit will help visualize some of the best urban practices in urban infrastructure projects such as roads, water supply, electricity and other basic amenities and heritage areas of the city.

Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso, who sent off the team at the Mayor's residence, wished the team members a successful tour. Kaso appreciated the IMC and the Mayor for organizing such training programmes for the newly-elected corporators. "I hope that with such training and exposure tour, the benefits will be conferred to the state and its people," said Kaso. Informing about the week-long training-cum-exposure tour, Phassang said that along with capacity building training, members would also visit various places like Jaipur and Indore to get first-hand information on solid waste management and other subjects.
