Itanagar, June 18: After making its entry into Nagaland politics earlier this year, the JD(U) is looking to expand its wings into Arunachal Pradesh where it formally launched the party on Sunday. The JD(U) emerged as a crucial party in this year’s Assembly election in Nagaland where it managed to win one seat and helped form the government there with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, the BJP, and the National People’s Party, and helped oust the Naga People’s Front. A statement from the party on Monday said that it is entering Arunachal Pradesh with a vision to rid the state of corruption and work for the development of tribal communities. It also said that it has plans to expand the party membership to 5,000 within two months. Kipa Kame has been named as the State convener for the party, the statement added.
