
PASIGHAT: The Indian Army along with the East Siang District fire station organized a joint firefighting exercise named ‘Agni-rakshak’ at Sigar, under the Mebo subdivision near here. The exercise was aimed at achieving synergy and refining drills/procedures for all types of fire incidents and hazards. It assisted in developing the Joint Response Mechanism and refining firefighting drills. The event also instilled a sense of faith and confidence between the Armed Forces and civil authorities to fight together against any such crisis. 216 army men from Sigar, 8 Fire officials, and 4 officials of the SDRF participated in the exercise.
