PASIGHAT: The joint inspection of the inter-state boundary of Assam- Arunachal was undertaken on Tuesday by the regional committee.

The regional committee members present from Arunachal Pradesh were 37-Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, East Siang DC Tayi Taggu, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, ADCs of Mebo and Ruksin A. Koyu and T. Jonnom respectively, administrative officers and from Assam side 114-Jonai MLA Bhuban Pegu, Dhemaji DC AK Bhattachariya, MAC Executive Councilor Raju Medok and administrative officers.

The committee came to the conclusion that the 28 villages mentioned in the Namsai declaration lying within the constitutional boundary of Arunachal Pradesh need not be visited. However, other villages wherein minor corrections with regard to drawing of final boundary are to be done, local community of both the states are to amicably solve the issue and report to the regional committee. It also decided that a probable date of next meeting will be held on September 3. During the day, the committee visited Jampani area at Sille Oyan Circle and Depi- Chirakhowa at Ruksin and Jonai subdivisions.
