ITANAGAR: Newly appointed chairman of the State Council for IT & e-Governance (SCITeG), Nyamar Karbak has called for a strong push toward cyber security awareness and responsible use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), across all levels of society. Highlighting growing concerns over cyber threats and the misuse of tools like deepfake technology, he stressed the urgent need for public education and capacity-building to safeguard citizens and institutions in the digital age.

“Responsible and informed use of technology is no longer optional; it is a societal imperative,” Karbak said while addressing a review meeting with director of the IT Council Neelam Yapin Tana, and other senior officials on Tuesday. The chairman proposed comprehensive efforts to educate MLAs, senior officials, and the general public on digital literacy and cybersecurity as a way to build a resilient and secure digital ecosystem. The meeting, held to assess the progress of ongoing IT and e-Governance projects, marked a significant milestone in aligning the Council’s vision with Arunachal Pradesh’s broader digital transformation goals.
