Khandu, Rijiju attend Tse Chu fest

TAWANG, June 24: Chief Minister Pema Khandu attended the annual celebration of 'Tse Chu' festival at Khinmey Sangnag Chockorlling Monastery along with MoS Home Kiren Rijiju on Saturday here. The celebration began with a colourful religious dances to commemorate the birth of Guru Padmasambhava, popularly known as Lopon Rinponche. "On this pious occasion, people from all walks of life cleanse themselves of any misfortunes and take this opportunity to accumulate spiritual gains merits to attain enlightenment," said Khandu.

Rijiju said that the purpose of any religion is to bring out the goodness in the people. He said that the occasion provides the opportunity to imbibe the teachings of Lord Buddha in daily life. On the other hand, Thegtse Rinpoche said that Lord Buddha had overcome five poisons - ignorance, jealousy, desire, attachment and anger.
