Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar has called upon the people for a coordinated approach to make the state beautiful and livable for one and all.

“Let us work in unison to make Arunachal Pradesh, known as ‘Last Sangri La on Earth’ for its enchanting natural beauty, a most beautiful and livable state for one and all’, he said and added that the state capital should be the centre of focus being the face of the state.

Kumar, who had worked as Naharlagun additional deputy commissioner and Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner, said that development is a continuing process but cleanliness and beauty could be maintained only if all stakeholders become willing partners, he reasoned. His response came when pointed out that he would have a vital role to play in implementing the Centre’s Itanagar and Pasighat Smart City projects with his success in implementing same Smart City projects as New Delhi Municipal Council chairman.

Responding to question as to what the state people could expect from him, Kumar, a 1987-batch IAS officer with BE (mechanical degree) and MBA, also instrumental in installing water ATMs, decentralizing sewage treatment plants, constructing underground bins in NDMC, said “Let me settle down first to begin the new inning.”

When informed that APEDA had begun installing solar rooftop panels in official building of under Itanagar Solar City project the way he had installed solar rooftop panels on 92 buildings, he quipped: “Wait and watch”.
