Likabali Intellectual Forum Demands Shuffling of Schemes in Itanagar

ITANAGAR: The Likabali Intellectual Forum (LIF) demanded for reshuffle of entire ongoing schemes at earliest, alleging of mismanagement of State Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF) funds by local MLA Kardo Nyigyor and department of Rural Works Department (RWD) on Monday.
Addressing the reporters at Press Club the president of LIF, Nyakar Taipodia said that the former MLA cum health and family welfare minister late Jomde Kena, an amount of Rs. 11 crores was sanctioned under SIDF for various development works, but unfortunately the concern department has passed the entire bill to concerned contractors without inspecting the work which has not yet completed.
“For the improvement of road from Gensi to Tatamori and Tatamori to Litemori village, approximately Rs 3 crores was provided but what may be termed as a misappropriation, the department had already passed Rs. 18 lakh 50 thousand to contractor form both stretches,” Taipodia said.
He also alleged that under the influence of present MLA, even the department did not follow the rules and norms of NIT so that other firms can also participate in the tendering process, Taipodia said adding that we have enough proofs and evidence to substantiate the allegation against department and local MLA.
On the sideline, Taipodia also informed that, for the purpose of security fencing around school compound of Government Middle School (Sibe), Rs. 100 crores was sanctioned. But surprisingly the compound wall of the school is of poor quality, to which a small boy could also say the actual construction cost of it, he added.
He also added that the concern department has already release Rs. 4 lakh to the executing agency and about 67 lakh is to be released soon.
Earlier LIF said that such arbitrary distribution of bills and schemes to any random persons would not be tolerated and announced to initiate democratic movement if the demand for reshuffle of above schemes is not met at the earliest.
