Longding District Students’ Union draws Government’s attention to pathetic road condition of Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) along NH-52B

ITANAGAR: The Longding District Students’ Union (LDSU) while informing about the reported pathetic condition of roads connecting Longding district has pleaded the department concerned and the State government as well to look into the matter.
In a release, the Union said that due to incessant rainfall a major stretch of the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) along NH-52B, which is under construction, has become too muddy and slippery for any vehicular movement to take place. Recent rainfalls have also caused flash floods which reportedly washed out all the temporary bridges over streams and rivers along NH-52B, it added.
The people of the whole district now have to rely on the lone Longding-Bimlapur (LB) road for transportation. Sadly, the said road -- the lifeline for the whole district -- is also in a dilapidated condition with multiple pits and potholes all along the way, claimed LDSU.
People with medical issues, students studying outside the districts and officials on regular tour are facing major problems because of such bumpy roads, said the Union while lamenting that the authorities concerned are paying little attention to carry out repair and maintenance works on the said road due to which the road is further deteriorating.
