Make Arunachal Pradesh NIT the best tech institute in country: Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra

Itanagar, Sept 19: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra while stressing that the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Arunachal Pradesh must stand out on academic front, has pitched for making it the best technical institution in the Northeastern region and the country as well.
These observations were made by the Governor when NIT Director Prof P Mohanta called on him at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday, an official communiqué informed. The Director, who has recently taken over the charge of the Institute, briefed the Governor about the institution.
Dr Mishra advised the new director to put in concerted effort in creating conducive academic ambience in the campus. He said that NIT must shine in all respects of academic excellence. “There must be joint effort from the director, members of the faculty and students to make it the best technical institution in the NER and the country,” the governor said. Its ranking in all India reckoning must improve and students’ placement must increase in this session, he asserted.
The governor emphasized on discipline, punctuality, innovation amongst the students and faculty. The students must be encouraged and motivated to think ‘out of the box’. He also stressed on cleanliness in the institution.
Prof Mohanta assured the governor of marked improvement in the NIT in times to come, the communiqué added.
