Itanagar: Agitation of the masses against the Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) scam has been intensifying with every passing day in the state.

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Takam Sanjoy while addressing a meeting at Ziro in Lower Subansri district yesterday said that Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi could commit many mistakes, but the bureaucrats and courts would check them from wrong doing.

Stating that the demonetisation claimed lives of 126 people in front of the banks and various central schemes, particularly luring 50 crore people to open Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDA) accounts by depositing Rs 12 each, he wondered where have those huge funds accumulated by looting the innocent people in broad daylight gone?

Referring to TAH land scam, he referred to minutes of the meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna on June 06, last year, said that the records available with Centre and withdrawal of compensation from banks are conclusive evidences and those involved cannot escape.

"One MLA has taken Rs 3 crore through cheque with signed receipt from a district land record and settlement officer (DLRSO) and on enquiry said that he has taken loan. If so, from where the DLRSO got that much money is the moot question.

State leaders have lost political morality or else those MLAs involved in the scam should have resigned by now and the masses instead of demanding their resignations are silent, he pointed out.

Attributing lack of road to defeat in 1962 Chinese war, Sanjoy said that development of the road to Tawang was approved by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh of UPA government in national interest besides gifting Civil Secretariat, Assembly secretariat and expansion of railway line to Arunachal, he reasoned.

The RTI Act enacted by Congress "government helped to get the original DPR of TAH compensation from Delhi to expose the massive corruption, he said. The CM, DCM, all MLAs, bureaucrats are involved while only three have been arrested so far, he added.
