Massive fire gutted four houses in Tirap district

Itanagar: A massive fire, which erupted on Tuesday night at VIP Colony (near NTC) in Deomali under Tirap district, completely gutted four houses, a delayed official release informed here on Thursday.

Though the actual cause of the fire is yet to ascertain, however, during enquiry it was revealed that the fire ignited from the gas hose of one Rakhi Dey. An LPG cylinder also burst which triggered the inferno to spread to nearby houses. SDPO L Tatyo and Deomali police station OC N Lowang with police personnel rushed the spot to control the fire. As per report received from Major Suresh Tripathi, a team of Army led by him also rushed the spot and rescued properties and family members.

Detailed report of the inferno would be updated after final assessment, the release said adding no human casualties were reported.
