NAHARLAGUN: Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang flagged off a 'Swachh Vaahan' to undo the tag of Itanagar being the seventh dirtiest city in the country during the 'Swachh Survekshan-2020' progrmame held at Rajiv Gandhi stadium, near here recently.

Speaking to the reporters, Phassang said that the launching of 'Swach Vaahan' is an approach to undo the criticism faced by the Urban Development (UD) department after Itanagar was ranked the Seventh among the ten dirtiest cities in the country.

He said that the Vaahan (Vehicle) will make rounds of colonies and sectors within the IMC. It has a toll free no. 14420 where people can call for making complaints about garbage strewn in the undesignated places, which will be later picked up by the sanitation workers.

Addressing the public earlier, Phassang urged all to shoulder the responsibility of making Itanagar a clean city. He said that competitions will be held among the 20 Corporator segments of IMC for keeping their segments clean.
