YUPIA: A one-day district-level workshop-cum-district-level coordination meeting on IDCF was conducted at Yupia under the chairmanship of Dr RR Ronya DPO (NCD)-cum-DSO (IDSP) DNCD Cell, Yupia. The workshop was attended by DR. Hage Ambing Chief Medical Superintendent TRIMS, DRCHO Yupia, J Taba incharge DD WCD, Shri Tadar Kapa, i.c DDSE, Dr. Tana Natung NO-MCH NHM, Shri Tado Hukam EE PHED.
Medical officers from various PHC and CHC of Papum Pare district were also present in the meeting. Dr. Tana Natung presented a PPT on IDCF. He spoke about the aims and objectives of IDCF. He said that the main aim of IDCF is to reduced infant and child mortality cause by diarrhoea. This programme was implemented during the year 2014 with an ultimate aim to achieve Zero Child deaths due to childhood diarrhoea.
He further said that it is a preventable death, the ailing infant or child can save just by giving ORS and Zinc tablet. It can also be controlled by spreading awareness among the people. Executive Engineer, PHED Yupia also spoke about safe drinking water, while expressing his regret for not able to supply clean water especially during monsoon/rainy season he said until and unless the problem of siltation is solved it will not be possible to provide clean water during rainy day.
Deputy Director (in-charge) of WCD also spoke on the occasion. She said the subject matter of WCD is correlated with IDCF program since it is deals with child’s health and its mortality.
She also requested the programme organizer i.e., District Health Society, Yupia to keep contact with the CDPOs of the blocks concerned before and during implementation of IDCF programme in the district for a positive outcome. In the workshop, detailed discussion was also done regarding the child death review and maternal death review and as well as family planning by the two resource persons -- Dr. Tana Natung and DRCHO, Yupia.
