Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh State Election Commissioner Hage Kojeen on Wednesday convened a coordination meeting at DC office Ziro in Lower Subansiri district to take stock of the implementation status of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the district.
The DC along with all heads of departments including the two nodal departments of PHE & WS division and Urban & Housing attended the meeting.
Initiating the discussion, Kojeen, who is also the Governor’s nominee as Swachhta Prerek, explained the significance and urgency to properly implement the Swachh Bharat Mission (clean India campaign) as a tribute to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary.
He called upon the district authorities to work out an action plan to be implemented by involving all stakeholders in the district.
Kojeen emphasised on the need to inculcate behavioural and changes through awareness campaign on personal hygiene and environmental hygiene.
Earlier, DC Chuku Takar highlighted the status of the Swachh Bharat Mission in the district followed by a presentation by PHE & WS executive engineer Kago Habung and UD & Housing assistant engineer Toko Yami, respectively, an official release informed.
The meeting decided to organize social service campaigns intensively at various vulnerable locations during the last week of February to clean up the entire surroundings of Ziro plateau including villages by involving all concerned.
