Meet on Vector Borne Diseases Held in Yupie, Arunachal Pradesh
YUPIA: A day-long assessment and review meeting of all the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme (NVBDCP) staffs under District Medical Officer (DMO) PapumPare was conducted at ZPC hall, Yupia on Monday here. District Vector Borne Disease Control Programme Officer Dr. Tana Aruna while presiding over the meeting and discussed the norms and guidelines to be followed during the whole routine Intensive Resource Reductions (IRR) exercise. She appealed to all the citizens, both private and government institutions, school and officials residing within twin capital city to take preventive measures like to discard and not to allow stagnant water in and around households for more than a week.
Regular use of mosquito nets while sleeping, applying lotions and use repellants during the day time, wearing of long sleeves cloths, are few options which can control vector born diseases, she suggested.
“Breeding of mosquitoes, by keeping surrounding clean and hygiene and in case of any fever, the test and medicines are provided free of cost at all the government health department which people should avail, she added.”
Dr. Tana Aruna also said that staffs from District Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (DVBDCP) are already engaged in the field IEC and BCC for source reductions and requested all to support and co-operate the Source Reductions team for vector and disease free environment.
