Meeting On Medical Waste Management Held In Aalo, Arunachal

AALO: Under the chairmanship of West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan, the first- ever meeting on ‘Medical Waste Management’ was held at Conference Hall of DC office on Friday. The meeting saw the participation of the medical fraternity, public and members of the District Level Monitoring Committee, The DC exhorted the medical and veterinary community to work jointly to dispose medical wastes and dead animals with infectious diseases as per laid down norms to contain the spread of diseases.

“Burning of waste inside institutions is banned to control air pollution and all wastes have to be disposed by giving chemical treatment and following all safety measures,” she said.

District Medical Officer Dr Moli Riba said that the maiden meeting has been convened to know the status of waste management in the General Hospital of Aalo and seek valuable suggestions from the participants to look into waste disposal aspects. He appealed to the members to visit the hospital from time to time to give their valuable suggestions.
