Minister Alo Libang lauds villagers of remote Senua for maintaining road connectivity

Stop opium cultivation, grow cash crops: Alo Libang

LONGDING: Arunachal Pradesh Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang appreciated the villagers of remote Senua for maintaining cleanliness and good road connectivity to the remotest part of the district.

Libang also encouraged the villagers for cash crop cultivation in the district. He suggested that the people should come forward to work with the Department of Horticulture for growing cash crops, thereby discouraging the opium cultivation.

The Minister was in the village to inaugurate a multi-purpose 'Common Facility Center' (CFC) at the village here on Monday. Addressing the gathering, Libang also requested the Panchayat leaders to work for the development in every sector. He also promised to help from his end to bring all-round development in the Healthcare sector in the district.

''Our government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is focused in providing best health care facilities to the people settled in the remotest village of our State,'' he said.

While, responding to the memorandum submitted by the public for the construction of Aganwadi and Heritage Centres in the district, Libang assured to take up the matter to the concerned department and according work out on the formalities with the town local MLA.

Calling upon the villagers to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in and around the CFC, Deputy Commissioner Bani Lego asked the management committee to install a better sound system, for which he assured to allocate certain amount of fund through district administration. ''Everything is perfect, except the sound quality. The sound should be clear for a better communication,'' he said while requesting the NERCORMP to allocate more funds to it.

Meanwhile, town MLA Tanpho Wangnaw greeting the public on the celebration of 'Oriah', asked the people of Senua Village to take utmost care of the CFC. The inauguration programme was also attended by local MLA Tanpho Wangnaw, Superintendent of Police R Vikram Harimohan Meena, Deputy Commissioner Bani Lego along with the head of departments.

The CFC has been implemented by NERCORMP and jointly funded by NERCORMP, North East Council, Ministry of DoNEAR, government of India, MLA-LAD fund and Longding district administration. Earlier, the Minister also visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Pangchau circle near here and interacted with the CHC staffs and the Panchayat leaders. The Panchayat leaders of the Circle submitted an eight-point memorandum to the Minister during the interaction. To which, the minister assured to workout after due consultation with department authorities.

The Minister was accompanied by Longding Deputy Commissioner, SP, DMO and heads of other departments.
