ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix on Wednesday chaired a high level meeting to review the work progress of Joram-Koloriang Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) at Palin in KraDaadi district.

Felix asked the officials to work for the welfare of the people and development of the State.

"We have around four months during winter for execution of works which we need to utilise properly. Because of the bad road condition, the entire development process in KurungKumey and Kra-Daadi districts have been badly affected," he pointed out.

"This is not the time to blame each other for the slow progress of the TAH and it is time we should unite and support the executing agency in construction of the road instead of being a stumbling block," the Minister said during the meeting.

Felix asked the officials of the department to remain vigilant well informed on the action plan undertaken package-wise on the stretch of the road project as work has already been awarded and new contractors have been appointed.

"The State government will question only the National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) official on progress of the work and they have to answer to the government on unnecessary delay," Felix categorically said while assuring all support from the government in execution of the work.

On the compensation issue, the Minister informed that a meeting would be convened in the first week of November this year between the chief secretary and district administration of both the districts.

Tali MLA JikkeTako who was also present in the meeting, pointed out the difficulties faced by the commuters of both the districts and asked the contractors to work with an action plan so that the road project is completed in a time bound manner.
