Missing Fisherman’s Body Recovered from Yomgo River in Arunachal

The dead body of one Limin Ingo, who went missing while fishing in the Yomgo river near Paya village in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district was recovered on Monday, police said.

ITANAGAR: The dead body of one Limin Ingo, who went missing while fishing in the Yomgo river near Paya village in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district was recovered on Monday, police said.

The 28-year-old Ingo went missing after he slipped into the river and was swept away by strong currents at around 2 pm on August 1 last. officer in-charge inspector Yomken Riram informed that locals stationed in Patum bridge over the river in Siang district saw a dead body swept away by the river this morning.

A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team and locals stationed near Logum Jini village in West Siang district were alerted and they recovered the body at around 10.30 am, the official said. On Aug 1, Ingo along with two friends went fishing. He slipped into the Yomgo river while his friends were fishing some distance away.

His friends rushed to rescue him but failed due to strong currents.

Police had engaged the NDRF and State Disaster Response Force to trace the missing person.

Hundreds of people from Paya, Kabu, Patum, Logum Jini villages and residents of Aalo town assisted the police, NDRF and SDRF in the search operation.
