Misuse of social media  causing more cyber crimes: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein

Itanagar: Misuse of innovation, IT and social media, the bedrock of the present era has led to rise in cyber and juvenile crimes, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said and exhorted all to make better use of social media with transparency.

Addressing the valedictory function of four-day 39th college day celebration of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) here on Thursday night, Mein lauded the GenNext for carving their niche in national and international scenario making the state government proud of its youth.

Education is first without which we are all blind, he said, adding the present education system has been defective which needs reforms, he said and cited example of a school in Namsai district with seven teachers for four 4 students for which he had directed the DC to close the school.

However, responding to question if the state government would declare DNGC as a centre of excellence, Mein said the college has already achieved that status and the government would do whatever possible as education is on its top priority agenda. “The present age belongs to the younger generation and someone of you will occupy my position tomorrow and advised them to prepare for that position get ready, he said with conviction.
