PASIGHAT: Local MLA Kaling Moyong, along with East Siang district Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, inspected the progress of various infrastructure development projects in the district on Tuesday.

They inspected the construction of Cultural Centre at Giidi Notko near here and improvement of field with natural turf development for the outdoor stadium at Pasighat.

Terming these infrastructures as assets of the district in particular and the State in general in the cultural and sports sectors, the MLA instructed the executing agency to ensure timely completion and to maintain the quality of works.

It was also informed that the turf development project, which started on September 27, 2021, is expected to be completed in 2024, while the Cultural Centre is set to be completed by 2023. The Deputy Commissioner instructed to solve the issue of water stagnation, ensuring proper drainage provision for the ongoing improvement works on the natural turf development. Earlier, EE, UD, PK Thungon and AE, UD, Mary Jopir briefed on the project status on turf development of the outdoor stadium with features of drainage, grassing etc.

The cultural hall has flexibility to attach temporary pandals for large gathering while hosting events, festivals and workshops.

Chief councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, deputy chief councillor Rebecca Panyang Megu, mandal president Asar Padun and others also accompanied the MLA during the inspection.
