BOMDILA: With the monsoon having unleashed its wrath on Monday in BCT road at Kaspi and the adjoining areas under Thrizino-Buragaon Assembly constituency in the district, the administration has prioritized evacuation of the injured patients and children of the Government Residential School besides restoration of the surface communication from Bomdila to Kaspi on a war footing.

Earlier on Monday at around 2 pm, one Pema Mosbu and his wife Kanchi Mosbu were swept away by the flash flood. Though grievously injured, Pema Mosbu hung on to his life but Kanchi Mosbu wasn’t that fortunate enough. She was reported missing.

The Maratha Light Infantry of the Army has evacuated Pema Mosbu to the Military Hospital Dahung. The children of the Government Residential School Kaspi has been evacuated and sheltered at Singchung IB.

The BRTF has succeeded in restoring the road from district headquarters Bomdila to Kaspi for vehicular traffic. But it would be weeks before the BCT road is cleared for surface communication. DC Sonal Swaroop informed that the 14 BRTF would be launching a Bailey bridge in place of the RCC bridge which was completely washed out the day before.
