BORDUMSA: 'Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu Ji, we are endeavouring to transform the state of Arunachal Pradesh to business hub in the area of Hydrocarbons & Mining sector', said Kamlung Mossang the Minister Geology and Mining Govt of Arunachal Pradesh during his address in a plenary session of Upstream Oil & Gas opportunities in North East Region (NER) held at Guwahati on Friday.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India organized an event to showcase Upstream Oil & Gas opportunities in North East Region (NER).

The objective of the conference was to highlight the portfolio of high-volume Oil and Gas assets of Indian Sedimentary basins, and to promote the Bidding Rounds of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Licensing Policy and Discovered Small Field Policy.

The plenary session of the event was chaired by Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli, Kamlung Mossang the Minister Geology and Mining Govt of Arunachal Pradesh and Ministers from Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram took part in the significant event.

Annirudh Saran Singh, Secretary Geology & Mining; and Tasser Talar Director attended the 'Investors Meet on Exploration and Production investment Opportunities in North Eastern Region'. Representatives of all the North East State Governments, DGH and various stakeholders took part in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Mossang — one of the seniormost and key Minister of Khandu's Cabinet while dwelling upon various issues pertaining to exploration and mining of huge deposits of mineral resources in Arunachal Pradesh reiterates that before the august gathering that Arunachal Pradesh has immense potential of hydrocarbon resources. 'Most of the hydrocarbon-bearing areas still remain unexplored which require systematic investigations, use of latest technologies and significant capital investment to transform them into producing properties while maintaining ecological balance which we have preserved over generations.

'Arunachal Pradesh is of strategic importance for India. With an intent of rapidly transforming the region, the State Government under the dynamic, visionary leadership of Pema Khandu Chief Minister has undertaken many key initiatives to augment Infrastructure and pace economic development', asserted the Minister.

The Minister of Geology and Mining apprised that the GoAP Plans to set up a dedicated service provider hub in the state to support the requirement of the Oil, Gas and Mining Industry in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Director General Hydrocarbon GoI.

Calling upon the investors to actively participate in upcoming bidding rounds and become part of the development of Arunachal Pradesh the Minister said the outlook of E&P business in North East Region in general and Arunachal Pradesh, in particular, is indeed promising.

Needless to say that the event was one of the biggest E&P sector events of recent time in the region which was exhaustively planned with a comprehensive set of presentations and panel discussions touching a gamut of topics pertaining to the E&P sector.

The theme of the event was aligned to Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for Northeast India, which is a paradigm shift in production and utilization of hydrocarbons to catalyze growth in the North East region and to improving the standard of living for the people, generating opportunities for the youth and creating a sustainable energy secure future.
