Movement of essential goods going on smoothly: Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday said that movement of essential goods into the State are being carried out smoothly while maintaining all precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

Attending a video-conference with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari, Khandu informed that work on all-important highways in the state are being carried out during the lockdown period and land acquisition issues are also being taken up on priority.

The video conference was organised by Gadkari with Transport and PWD ministers of all states for ensuring hassle free movement of goods in the lockdown period and resuming of highway works across the country.

Stating that connectivity is priority for the state, Khandu requested the union minister for clearing the pending road projects for Package B & C of 4-laning of Itanagar-Banderdewa road, package C of 2-lane Hukanjuri-Khonsa road of NH-315A and protection and mitigation of landslides and erosions for 4-lane Hollongi to Itanagar highway, official sources informed here.
