ITANAGAR: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Nabam Rebia on Friday donated hand gloves, face masks, N 95 and surgical masks and sanitizers to the Papum Pare police. The SP Dr. Neelam Nega received the items on behalf of the police.

Later talking to press Rebia said that at this juncture everyone should extend support in whatever capacity to frontline and healthcare workers. He also said the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is effectively handling the Covid 19 situation in the state. The MP stressed the need for proper checking along foothill areas.

"The Covid 19 situation in Assam is turning grim. Therefore, being immediate neighbours, strict checking should be done along the Assam-Arunachal boundary so that movement of people is regulated," Rebia said.

SP Dr Neelam Nega expressed gratitude to MP for the support.

"The support extended by MP will definitely help us. We will distribute the items to all the police officials of the district," he said.

Later Rebia also donated the around 5000 facemask, hands glove and hands sanitizers to the Doimukh BJP Mandal President Paney Matang and lauded the role of the party cadres specially the BJYM and BJP ST Morcha and other party leaders working in the Covid management across the state.
