National Cadet Corps Additional Director General Major General Bipin Bakshi meets Governor BD Mishra

Itanagar: Shillong-based North Eastern Region Additional Director General of National Cadet Corps (NCC), Major General Bipin Bakshi on Tuesday called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (retd) Dr BD Mishra at Raj Bhawan and discussed promoting NCC programmes and activities in the State.

The Governor emphasised that NCC programmes must reach every corner of the state and a maximum number of students must be enrolled in it, a press release informed here.

He said that NCC is a very important part of academic curricula, which has been instilling unity, discipline, nationalism, patriotism and spirit of ‘Nation First’ amongst the young students. NCC training helps inculcation of obedience, group activity and determination amongst the cadets.

The Governor also stressed that cadets from Arunachal Pradesh must have the opportunities of attending the regular NCC trainings and takes ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations of NCC and work hard to get selected for the Republic Day parade.

He also emphasized that there must be more and more NCC units, which would help in developing a disciplined human resource in the state.

At the request of the governor, the ADG informed that 100 vacancies for enrolment of the students in the NCC have been allotted to Rajiv Gandhi University and enrolment would start from June 2019.

Commissioner to Governor RP Upadhyaya, Education Secretary Madhu Rani Teotia, RGU VC Prof Saket Kushwaha, NERIST Director Prof H S Yadav, Group Commander of NCC Group Headquarters, Tezpur Brig K S Rao and Commanding Officer of 1st Arunachal Pradesh NCC Battalion Col R K Sharma were present in the meeting, the release added.
