National Lok Adalat settles 66 cases in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: Along with the rest of the country, the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) of Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday successfully conducted the first National Lok Adalat for the current year, under the guidance of the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority.

Altogether, 569 pre-litigation cases including bank recovery cases and other cases were listed, out of which 32 cases were disposed off with a settlement amount of over Rs 20 lakh.

Moreover, 156 pending cases including criminal compoundable, bank recovery cases, matrimonial disputes, Motor Vehicle Act cases, civil cases and other cases were listed, out of which 34 were disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs 2, 67, 000.

The National Lok Adalats have been conducted by the District & Session Courts of Pasighat, Tezu, Bomdila and Khonsa besides, Additional District & Sessions Court at Basar, Chief Judicial Magistrate courts at Yupia, Pasighat, Aalo, Roing, Seppa and Ziro. The Lok Adalats were also conducted at Judicial Magistrate First Class courts of Tawang, Yingkiong, Longding, Namsai, Changlang and Koloriang, an official communique informed here.
