National People’s Party condoles death of Arunachal social worker Samten Wangdi

ITANAGAR: The National People’s Party (NPP), Arunachal Pradesh, expressed its deep condolence on the sudden demise of a veteran political figure and social worker Samten Wangdi, who passed away on April 12 at Tuting.

Wangdi had a stroke while performing his duty as a polling agent for BJP MLA candidate Alo Libang at his village Kope, under Tuting Sub-Division of Upper Siang district on April 11. He was immediately admitted in the Community Health Centre (CHC), Tuting, where he breathed his last. He was 52.

NPP vice-president Nima Sangey Saling and NPP State spokesperson Pema Nyisur, NPP Upper Siang district president along with public leaders of Tuting sub-division attended the funeral programme at Kopu. State NPP president Gicho Kabak in his statement said that the untimely demise of Samten Wangdi is a great loss for the Tuting sub-division. “His departure has created a vacuum in his family as well as in the society and the State,” he said.

Samten Wangdi was the district president of BJP’s Minority Morcha, Upper Siang district. He served in various capacities in social and political activities of the district and rendered his valuable service to the people of his district during his long association with different political and social organizations.
