NCC activities help youth in imbibing discipline, says Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra

ITANAGAR: NCC Additional Director General (NER) Major General Gagan Deep Friday called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra at Raj Bhawan here and discussed promoting more NCC-related activities in the state.

The governor during the meeting said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the expansion of NCC programmes across the country.

Mishra stressed the need for providing NCC programmes in schools, colleges and universities throughout the state, particularly in troubled Changlang, Tirap and Longding districts.

The Governor said that NCC activities will help the youth in imbibing discipline and humanism in service to the people and society. "Most importantly NCC instils the commitment to the nation first spirit," he pointed out.

Mishra assured that the state government would provide all necessary assistance through the department of education for the expansion of the NCC in the state.

Earlier, the ADG briefed the governor about the NCC programmes in Arunachal Pradesh and other states of the northeast, a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed.
