Nine Shops Gutted in Changlang Market

CHANGLANG: Around nine shops were reportedly gutted down at the market area in Changlang market on last Thursday. The fire broke out around 8pm in the night but so far the cause of the fire is yet to be known. It was also reported that there is no human casualty but worth lakhs of property were turned down to ashes.

The fire tender team under the supervision of Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) companies by the 14AR and CRPF immediately rushed to the spot where, later after an hour of effort the fire was minimized. Speaking to this daily today, a local of the district said that, the government should realize that the district headquarter needs a fully functional fire brigade department to fight out the fire occurrences from time to time in the market areas.

“It seems, the government had allotted small Omni van with a capacity of only 200 litres initially for the entire district headquarter townships, which is really disgusting,” he said.

He also added that it should be replaced and equipped with sophisticated fire extinguishing gadgets at the earliest so that the land lock town can be saved and secured from the uncalled fire accident in the district.
