ITANAGAR: The novel coronavirus pandemic has seemingly taken a pause in Arunachal Pradesh with no new case reported since Thursday, while a person in Tirap district was released during the day after being cured of the disease.

With this the total number of recoveries rose to 11 while 92 are active cases in the northeastern state, State Surveillance Officer Dr L Jampa informed.

Among the active cases in the state, 58 are from Changlang district, while eight are from Capital Complex – comprising Itanagar and Naharlagun and another nine from East Siang.

While four active cases are reported from West Kameng district, Lower Dibang Valley reported three cases.

Lohit, Tirap and Namsai districts have reported two cases each while, Longding, Lower Siang, Tawang and West Siang districts have reported only one case each.

So far eleven patients were discharged after being cured of the disease in the state. The first case in the state was reported in April 2, after a 31-year-old man tested positive for the disease following his return from a religious congregation in Delhi. He was discharged from a hospital on April 16.

After almost six weeks, the state had registered its second case on May 24, after a student who had returned from Delhi tested positive for the disease.
