ITANAGAR: Hundreds of men and women, representing Arunachal Nari Sakti, Arunachal Bacho Andolan committee (ABAC), All Capital Complex Youth Welfare Association (ACCYWA), and Pro-Dam Movement, on Tuesday conducted a 9-km procession form Naharlagun to Itanagar, demanding action against the present 'corrupt' government led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Shouting anti-Khandu slogans, the protestors march from Naharlagun to Tennis Court here. Later talking to reporters, the organizations highlighted their charter of demands, including free electricity for every household, immediate arrest of Akhilesh Pratap Singh of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, justice for Arunachal Against Corruption (AAC) led by chairperson Toko Sheetal who reached Jantar Mantar in New Delhi demanding probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) against the state government.

"If the state government does not act, we would decide future course of action," they said and questioned as why Singh had not been arrested so far?

The ABAC in collaboration with the ACCYWA had staged a sit-in at the Tennis Court here for a few days since October 14 to protest against the "allegation levelled against Sheetal in a digital portal."

The Northeast Human Rights Organization (NEHRO) had filed a complaint with the National Commission for Schedule Tribes (NCST) on September 23 this year against Singh for intimidating and using racial remarks against Sheetal. Meanwhile, various NGOs, namely All Arunachal Pradesh Kranti Dal, Nupang Erang Kebang (NEK), East Siang District Law Students' Association and others had also lodged FIR in various police stations.

A group of youths led by Sheetal had launched foot march from Itanagar to Delhi on August 22 demanding a CBI inquiry against Khandu for alleged corruption.
