Over 100 Inner Line Permits Violators Pushed Back: Arunachal Pradesh

Our Correspondent

Itanagar : Continuing the intensive inspection of inner line permits (ILP), the police here have identified over 100 ILP violators in the last two days and pushed them out of the State.

Capital SP M Harsha Vardhan informed that, as per the instructions of the director general of police, regular checks are being conducted at various locations, especially construction sites, to check the ILP status of the labourers working there. The process of issuing ILPs at check gates has been tightened in the capital after the SP raised the issue with the Deputy Commissioner.

DC Prince Dhawan had passed on instructions to the circle officers to ensure proper verification before ILP is issued, discouraged offline issuance of ILPs/temporary ILPs, and directed issuing ILPs through the government online portal (e-ILP).

Intensive checking of ILPs is being carried out at all entry and exit points of the state, following the publication of the final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in neighbouring Assam.
