Pema Khandu participates in cleanliness drive in Arunachal

Itanagar: Marking the birth anniversary of Mahata Gandhi, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday part in the celebration of the culmination of fortnight-long “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign organized at Mahatma Gandhi Park here.

The Chief Minister offered floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi as mark of respect to the great soul. Khandu also took part in a cleanliness drive organized to mark the event. Later the chief minister flagged off eleven numbers of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) trucks that would add to the garbage collection fleet of vehicles.

Khandu congratulated the IMC for procuring new vehicles and encouraged the corporation to carry out the work of garbage collection diligently. He said the motto of keeping Itanagar clean and green should be followed with full sincerity and dedication. The event was organized by the capital district administration, along with IMC and Urban Development & Housing department, an official communiqué informed.
