Penalty imposed on PIO

Itanagar, July 3: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) has imposed a penalty of Rs 25,000 on the Public Information Officer-cum-Divisional Forest Officer, Likabali, Bajum Taba for delaying in furnishing information to one Tako Tagom, appellant of APIC case No. 117/2018. The Commission directed the PIO to pay the penalty amount and provide complete information to the appellant before July 27 failing which it will invoke section 20(2) of Right to Information Act 2005. The APIC fixed the next hearing on July 30 next, an official release informed here today.
