KHARSANG: The All Changlang District Students Union (ACDSU) has lodged an FIR against a person for allegedly using forged identity cards to enter Arunachal through the Namchik Checkgate in Changlang district on June 28.

According to the Union, the person who is a returnee and a Chakma refugee used forged /tempered documents to enter the district through the Checkgate. However, with the alertness of the administration, the person was detained and while interrogation the "tampered documents" of the person were recovered.

As per the sources, the alleged person managed to cross the Dirak Checkgate and the Namsai Gate without any hurdles though the security team deployed in the Namchik gate found some suspicious in his documents. As per the sources, the person has the following three names — Swapan Dashi Chakma, Nilu Chakma and Rahul Chakma — in three different documents.

On interrogation, the person reportedly admitted that he had tampered the documents (Aadhaar card) of his bother-in-law who is a resident of Udaipur-II Village in Changlang district. In his other documents issued by the Gaon Burah of Dharampur-II Village, his name has been shown as Rahul Chakma, informed the sources. Meanwhile, the police has registered a case (No. 10/2020 U/S 468/416 IPC) against the person.
